U.N. Navy VF-16 "Alex's Airedales" VF-1J

By Jason W. Smith

Dream Catcher VF-1

This is a U.N. Navy VF-1J-32-MD flown by Commander (later Captain) Jeffrey "Yah-Yah" Framton as Commanding Officer of VF-16 " Alex's Airedales" (so named in honor of World War Two triple-ace Alexander Vraciu, http://www.AlexVraciu.net, who was a member of the original VF-16). Owing its moniker to Framton's second wife, Neona Fay Marble (a Cherokee Indian), it was assigned to the RDF's Joint Reserve Base in San Antonio, Texas. Featured in my novel, "Attention on Deck!" this is the signature paint scheme for Captain Framton. This Valkyrie served in combat during the Second Robotech Robotech War and survived the Third Robotech War in an abandoned warehouse. It is now on display at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida.
